Both are set on two and a half acres of grounds and established gardens with magnificent views over the Tamar River. Situated 40kms north of Launceston, on the scenic wine route and near the Batman Bridge for easy access to both the East and West Tamar Valley attractions. There are a host of things to see and do in the Region. Beaconsfield is the closest town. A warm welcome always awaits guests at Tamar River Retreat.From Launceston take either the East Tamar Highway or West Tamar Highway heading north. The East Tamar Highway is quickest - proceed towards George Town and turn left at the Batman Bridge Exit. Cross the Batman Bridge and turn first right at Rowella Road. Follow Rowella Road around the water and turn right at Kayena Road. The West Tamar Highway goes through a number of towns including Riverside, Legana and Exeter. Follow the Highway through Exeter and take the Exit towards Batman Bridge. BEFORE crossing the bridge, turn left at Rowella Road, follow Rowella Road around the water and turn right at Kayena Road. Travelling from Devonport (eg Spirit of Tasmania) pass through Frankford to Exeter and turn left onto the West Tamar Highway.Tamar River Retreat is primarily an adult venue.Free parking is available on site.35 min45 min
